Dr. Dustin "Dr. Dusty" Janssen is a pediatric dentist who believes caring for a child often means looking beyond the teeth alone. At Parkview, he works closely with the therapy team to help families better understand how oral structure and function can affect feeding, speech, breathing, sleep and overall development.
Dr. Dusty has a special interest in evaluating tongue, lip and cheek ties and helping families determine whether those restrictions are truly affecting function. His approach is thoughtful and conservative, with an emphasis on understanding the whole child before recommending treatment. When a procedure may be beneficial, he collaborates with lactation consultants, speech-language pathologists and other members of the care team to help support the child before and after treatment.
That collaborative approach is an important part of Parkview Therapy Services. Rather than treating one symptom in isolation, Dr. Dusty and the therapy team work together to understand what a child is experiencing, identify contributing factors and determine the most appropriate next step.
For families, that means clear education, thoughtful recommendations and care that is individualized to their child. Dr. Dusty believes parents should feel informed and confident in the decisions they make, whether the best next step is therapy, continued monitoring, a procedure or simply reassurance that intervention is not needed.
His goal is always the same: help children function, grow and thrive while making sure families feel supported throughout the process.
