Starting therapy for your child can bring a lot of questions. We've designed every step of your journey with Parkview (from your first phone call to your child's ongoing care) to feel clear, welcoming, and free of surprises.
From scheduling your first appointment through your child's evaluation and personalized care plan, our team walks alongside you at every step. You'll never be rushed or left wondering what happens next, and we'll explain what to expect, answer your questions along the way, and make sure you leave every visit with a clear understanding of your child's progress and the path forward.
Your journey starts with a conversation, not a commitment. When you call or request an evaluation online, our team takes time to understand your concerns and helps match your child with the right service. We'll walk you through scheduling, new patient paperwork, insurance and billing questions, what to bring, and how to prepare, answering any questions that come up along the way. Our goal is to help you feel prepared before you ever walk through our doors.

From the moment you arrive, you'll be greeted by a friendly team that understands caring for children begins with helping families feel comfortable. We've intentionally created a space that feels warm, inviting, and child-friendly, because healthcare shouldn't feel intimidating. Our hope is simple: parents walk in and exhale, children feel curious instead of anxious, and every family knows they've found a place where they belong.
Every appointment begins by getting to know your child, not just their symptoms. Your provider will take time to learn about your concerns, listen to your goals, and understand your child's developmental history before moving into a formal evaluation. We encourage you to ask questions throughout the visit, because your observations as a parent are an important part of your child's care.
Depending on your child's needs, your evaluation may include a discussion of your concerns and goals, a review of medical and developmental history, observation of communication, feeding, or oral function, age-appropriate assessments, an oral motor or feeding evaluation when applicable, and a tongue, lip, or cheek tie evaluation if indicated. You'll have plenty of time to ask questions throughout. Every recommendation we make is personalized to your child's unique needs. There's no one-size-fits-all approach.
Following the evaluation, your provider will review their findings with you and discuss next steps together. Your care plan may include therapy recommendations, home activities and exercises, parent education, follow-up appointments, and collaborative care with other Parkview specialists when appropriate. Before you leave, you'll have a clear understanding of your child's strengths, recommended services, and what to expect moving forward.
